Netflix Many of the most popular shows are set to return in 2025, including stranger things, squid game, cobra kai and Wednesday.
However, none of these popular series can match the quality of Netflix’s elite series across all genres.
As this year comes to an end, watch with us are sharing our picks for the five best Netflix shows of 2025.
This year, three-fifths belong to drama, but two of Netflix’s most popular comedies also get a spot.
5. “No one wants this” (2024-present)
Joanne Williams’ ongoing courtship (kristen bell) and Noah Rockloff (Adam Brody) continue in no one wants this Season 2. Netflix takes the show seriously enough that it has a new season ready to go 13 months after it premiered. This feel-good romantic comedy tells the story of a rabbi and an atheist who fall deeply in love.
At the end of season one, Noah chose his love for Joanne over the coveted rabbit-head job he so desperately wanted. Joanne and Noah’s worlds have collided, but now they face tougher questions: How they plan to fit into each other’s lives, and the sacrifices they’re willing to make in the name of that relationship. True love can get really messy in this series, but Bell and Brody are very compelling as leads, so it’s fun to see Joanne and Noah together.

4. ‘Department. Q’ (2025-present)
Nothing brings the streaming world to life like a good British mystery drama. Q department is one of the most compelling Netflix shows of the year, thanks to its intensity Matthew Goode As Carl Mock. Carl is a police detective who survives a tragedy that kills another officer and leaves behind his partner James Hardy (Jamie Sievers), paralyzed. In order to get rid of Carl, his superiors transferred him to the underfunded cold case unit.

Carl’s new job inspires other outcasts, including Rose Dixon (Leah Byrne) and Akram Salim (Alexei Manvilov), join the Q department, and even James provides remote support. Their first case together revolved around the disappearance of prosecutor Merritt Lingard (Chloe Pirie), a woman who has been missing for many years. The show also quickly reveals Merritt’s current whereabouts, but you’ll have to keep watching to find out who took her and why.

3. “Forever” (2025 to present)
Judy BloomNovels loved by young people forever… Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the story is getting a modern reboot on Netflix that feels very timely. Lovie Simone and Michael Cooper Jr. Leading the series are high school athletes Keisha Clark and Justin Edwards, respectively. They had known each other for years, but reconnected as teenagers and suddenly experienced their first real romantic love.
Kesha and Justin share a deep bond, but their newfound relationship faces many tests. They may both be athletes, but they have different goals, different circumstances and huge family pressures. Are they prepared to make sacrifices to keep them together? We’ll all find out when season 2 arrives.

2. “Adolescence” (2025)
We’ve already mentioned feel-good shows in this list. puberty It’s a feel-good show. It’s a perfectly crafted miniseries, but it’s also a tough one for 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) was arrested for murdering a classmate. The aftermath of the arrest left his parents, Eddie, emotionally devastated (Stephen Graham) and Manda Miller (Christine Tremaco), and Jamie’s sister Lisa (Amelie Pease).
Each episode is shot like one long continuous shot. Cooper won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries for his performance in the third episode opposite Erin Doherty Psychologist Briony Ariston. I think Cooper will be a big star if he plays this well on a regular basis. Graham and Doherty also won Emmy Awards for their performances, puberty Won the Outstanding Limited Series Award. There’s no doubting the quality of this show; you’ll probably feel quite frustrated after watching it.

1. “The Man Within” (2024-present)
