The 3 Best New Prime Video Movies I Watched This Weekend (December 26-28)

This movie is enough to give you a reason to log on to Prime Video and relax, but the other two movies are also worth your time.

Fantasy science fiction movie Creator Deserves even more fans than it does now, and those craving a classic love story should find it Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell exist four weddings and a funeral.

“The Sinner” (2025)

World War I veterans Smoker and Stack Moore (Michael B. Jordan) are twin brothers who share a simple dream – to open and run their own nightclub in 1930s Mississippi. They overcame financial hardship, not to mention a deeply racist society, to make their dreams a reality. The club is successful, but the brothers encounter a problem they never thought they’d face – vampires! Led by the charismatic Remick (Jack O’Connell), these vampires want more than just blood – they want to take over the nightclub and turn everyone into blood-sucking creatures of the night. The Moore brothers don’t want this to happen and they will use every weapon they have to save themselves and the rest of the town.

What else can be said sinner? A hit at the box office and one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year. This makes sense, as the film is both a very entertaining vampire movie and a subtle commentary on racism and immigration in America. director Ryan Coogler is a true master of cinema – every shot has a purpose and almost every line of dialogue matters. Visual enjoyment and good times, sinner will make you believe again that vampires exist – and that studios can still make great big-budget genre films.

“The Creator” (2023)

In the near future, artificial intelligence has destroyed much of the United States and is therefore banned in much of the world. However, New Asia continues to use it to maintain their society, which brings it into conflict with an increasingly militant resistance movement led by the United States. Enter Sergeant Joshua Taylor (john david washington), the U.S. military assigned him to find a weapon that could destroy their defenses.

It doesn’t take Josh long to find the weapon, but to his surprise, it appears in the form of a young girl, Alfie (Madeline Una), has the power to control all technology. With Alfie an innocent bystander in all this, Taylor is faced with a dilemma – can he kill innocent people for the greater good? Can anyone really “kill” the dead Alfie?

Creator Tackles classic sci-fi themes like humanity versus technology, but puts them in a clever package, utilizing all the tools in the filmmaking toolbox to create its futuristic world. The visual effects were nominated for an Academy Award and it’s the real star Creator. From the face of New Asia to a thrilling third act set in outer space, the special effects will make you believe in a future ruled by computers and a minimalist aesthetic.

“Four Weddings and a Funeral” (1994)

Romantic comedies have been a successful genre since the 1930s, but few have been nominated for Best Picture Oscars. One of the few exceptions is four weddings and a funeralnominated alongside the following classics Forrest Gump, pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption. Looking at it today, it fully deserves the nomination, as it remains one of the funniest and most romantic films ever made.
