if you are a fan marley and meyou will like it Merv — Don’t worry, dogs live in this one. This is not a spoiler, but a guarantee to relax and watch a sweet romantic comedy about Lars (Charlie Cox), a depressed teacher still frustrated with his lover Anna (Zooey Deschanel), broke up with him. Their dog Merv is also depressed and the only way he can be happy again is to reconcile with his human owners. It’s a tall order, though, as Lars is now cynical about everything and Anna is hiding a secret that could make everything better. Will love prevail, if only to make Merv a happy good boy again?
Merv Just like how I drink my coffee – light and sweet, just enough to keep me going for a few hours. Cox is an unexpected but welcome comedic delight as the down-and-out Russ, and Deschanel channels her well new girl “Lovely” personality for a character not unlike Jesse. As romantic comedies go, Merv is one of the best direct-to-streamers out there, so check it out now before 2026 Oscar nominees crowd your streaming watch list.
Merv Now streaming on Prime Video.
Hear me out — what if the sequel to 2019’s much-maligned, box-office bomb “Joker” was actually good? Flawed yet charming, Clown: Pas de deux It’s had some wild swings and hasn’t always been successful, but it’s unlike any comic book sequel you’ve ever seen.
After causing mass carnage in Gotham City in the previous film, Arthur Fleck (joaquin phoenix) is now sent to Arkham State Asylum, where he meets fellow inmate Lee Quinzel (Lady Gaga). Lee is as messed up as he is, and they quickly bond over a series of music that only exists in their heads. Their warped sense of reality collides with Arthur’s criminal trial, which highlights his increasingly dangerous influence on Gotham’s disenfranchised. Will Lee help Arthur become the Joker again and finish what he started in the first film?
if you expect Clown: Pas de deux Just like any other musical you’ve seen, well, you’re going to be disappointed. The musical numbers, while quirky, stay true to the source material – they’re exactly what two distraught men dreamed up to escape a harsh reality of their own making. The film also serves as a sly commentary on the first film’s breakout success, questioning why anyone would consider its deplorable subject matter a symbol to inspire anyone.
Clown: Pas de deux Now streaming on Prime Video.
brad pittan international league of assassins and a speeding train – what else does it take to make a successful action comedy? Shinkansen It borrows styles from other action movies, but it steals all the good parts and tells a distracting story of misfit killers trying to kill each other on a non-stop Japanese bullet train.
Pitt stars as Ladybug, a down-on-her-luck assassin who encounters more misfortunes while fulfilling her contract. All he has to do is retrieve a suitcase full of cash from the train, only to be drawn into a gang war involving White Dragon (Michael Shannon), the powerful gangster crime boss, Son of the Dragon (Logan Lerman), was killed while boarding a train. Everyone thinks Ladybug did it, but he’s innocent (for once). But that doesn’t stop Ryu or his team of assassins from hunting him down with everything they have – guns, knives, katana swords, and even a deadly oversized teddy bear.
If this all sounds exaggerated, that’s because it is what it should be. While there’s some calculation behind every “wacky” action sequence, there’s no denying Shinkansen work. Pitt breezes through it all with his effortless charm, and a colorful supporting cast, which includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry Have fun playing as a killer with trendy fashion sense as twin brothers(!).
