Texas Tech University Quarterback Belen Morton went through a long and arduous road college football playoff.
Morton spent the second half of the 2025 season recovering from a hairline fracture of his right fibula, which derailed his and the team’s season. Red strategy –Fire at full speed. The injury occurred after he had played two full seasons, suffering a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, which meant a complete tear of the ligament that connects the collarbone to the shoulder blade.

He continued, “When I’m healthy, I think the offense will expand a lot. But we have a lot of playmakers. That makes my job easy. If I can find them open and get the ball to them quickly, I think we’ll be very explosive.”
Morton’s best football hopes are ahead of him, and he has his girlfriend, a Texas Tech football player Kate Leibelsupporting him from the sidelines. The two have been together for more than two years, and their relationship has taken them from the football field to Texas wine country and beyond.
Although Leibell is still eligible if she wants to play another year, she lists herself as a Texas Tech alumna on her resume on X Now offering private soccer lessons to kids in the Lubbock, Texas area.
