Spotify’s new feature lets you explore the story behind the music you’re listening to

Spotify is introducing a new “About the Song” section that allows users to explore the context of the music they are listening to, the company said. he announced on Friday. This feature displays short story cards that users can scroll and control with their thumb or down.

These animated short stories are condensed from third-party sources to show interesting details and behind-the-scenes moments, the company says.

With this new feature, Spotify is giving users access to features not available on platforms like Apple Music.

About This song is available in mobile beta in English for most users in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.

Users can access the new feature through the “Now Playing” screen by scrolling down to find the “About the Song” card for the tracks they support, after which they can scroll down to explore the story behind the song.

It’s been a busy week for Spotify, as About the Song isn’t the only thing that’s been announced in recent days.
