“I am pleased and grateful to the investigators and technology companies who were able to find the video,” she added. “So I at least hope that people of good will and compassion will stop the irresponsible and cruel speculation that has begun to spread. I’m glad people are seeing what’s happening on our doorstep.”
Savannah also told Kotb on Thursday that her sister Anne was the one who told her Nancy was missing.
“She was panicking and I was panicking,” she recalled. “We thought she must have had some kind of medical incident during the night and somehow the paramedics came because the back door was open, which doesn’t make any sense.”
However, it didn’t take long for them to realize something was wrong, explaining that due to Nancy’s health, she “couldn’t walk away.”
“My mom, she was in a lot of pain, her back was really bad. On nice days, she could walk to the mailbox and get the mail, but most days she couldn’t,” Savannah explained. “There was no ‘go away.'” The door was open and there was blood on the front doorstep. The ring camera has been pulled away. So we said, ‘This won’t work. ‘”
As the search continues, Savannah remains hopeful, telling Kotb that she still thinks of Nancy in the “present tense.”
