When asked about suggestions circulating online that Nancy’s abductor may have been a family member, Savannah added, “It’s excruciating and painful. There are no words. There are no words. I don’t understand and I will never understand.”
She continued, “No one took better care of my mom than my sister and brother-in-law. No one protected my mom more than my brother. We loved her and she was our shining light. She was our matriarch. She was everything to us.”

The FBI last month released video of a masked man outside Nancy’s home who appeared to be holding a gun, but authorities reiterated that the suspect has not yet been identified. (Nanos said before US Weekly Savannah’s sister Anne was the last person to see Nancy before she disappeared. )

“At this time, investigators have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie,” the department wrote in a statement in February. “Detectives are working closely with the Guthrie family. While we appreciate the public’s concern, sharing unsubstantiated accusations or false information is irresponsible and will not aid the investigation.
The message concluded: “No suspects or persons of interest have been identified at this time.”
Savannah and her siblings shared several statements Pleading for their mother’s safe return after weeks of disappearance. In another clip from the Today Show interview, Savannah broke down in tears while talking about her mother.
“Someone needs to do the right thing. We’re in pain,” she shared of the “unbearable” pain of waiting for answers. “Think about what she’s been through. I wake up in the middle of the night every night. Every night. In the dark, I imagine her fear. It’s unimaginable.”
