Savannah Guthrie will share more insights into her mother’s disappearance, Nancy Guthriein a new interview more than 50 days after the 84-year-old disappeared.
During Wednesday, March 25th, today program, host Craig Melvin Introducing a segment where Savannah is about to sit down with you Hoda Kotbthis is the first time she has been interviewed about the case. Melvin noted that the conversation was a “very personal” one for those involved.
In the video, Savannah is moved to tears while discussing what may have happened to her mother.
“Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in pain…it is unbearable,” she told Kotb. “Think about what she’s been through. I wake up in the middle of the night every night. Every night. In the dark, I imagine her fear. It’s unimaginable.”
Savannah stressed, “She needs to go home now.”
More interviews will air on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27. Back in the morning show studio, Kotb recounted her emotional conversation with Savannah.
“Savannah had a desperation and a callousness. She wanted someone, whoever that person was, to see something and say something,” she explained. “As you saw over the next few days, she talked about a lot of things. She talked about the investigation, she talked about her faith, she talked about how she got through it.”

Nancy was last seen on January 31 at her home in Arizona. her family report her missing the next day.

And most of all, we believe in Him,” she wrote on February 2. “Thank you for joining us in praying for our beloved mother, our dearest Nancy, a woman of strong faith and a kind and faithful servant. Join us in praying and trust with us that she will be inspired by your prayers in this moment.”

“Mom, if you’re hearing this, you are a strong woman. You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy,” Savannah said. “We believe and know that He is with you, even in this valley. Mom, everyone is looking for you everywhere. We will not rest. Your children will not rest until we are together again. We speak to you every moment. We pray without ceasing and we rejoice in advance for the day when we will hold you in our arms again. We love you, Mom.”
Three days later, Nancy’s children became adults plead with the kidnappers For her safe return.
“We are asking you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her,” Savannah said in an Instagram video on February 7. “This is the only way we can have peace. This is of great value to us and we will pay the price.”
Two weeks after Nancy disappeared, Savannah shared in an Instagram video on February 15 The family still has “hope” And added, “It’s never too late to do the right thing.”
