Page six As reported on Saturday, January 31, a judge agreed the previous day to modify a protective order that prohibited Ray J, 45, from visiting the couple’s two children, Melody, 7, and Epik, 6. (Princess Love, 41, filed for divorce from Ray J for the fourth time in 2024.)
“The restraining order was modified to allow Ray J to have unrestricted contact with his children and wife,” Ray J’s attorney told the outlet.
The outlet reported that Princess Love and Ray J’s mother, Sonia Norwoodtestified at the hearing. Princess Love explains that the children “miss their father.”
“The children have been asking about him. They are worried about his health,” according to the report. “I hope they can see their father. They are not in any danger.”

A few months before the hearing, Ray J arrested In November 2025, he was suspected of threatening Princess Love. TMZ reported that he said in a live video that he had the “worst Thanksgiving in the world” before allegedly holding “Princess Love” at gunpoint.
In December 2025, he denied the accusation, telling TMZ that he would “never point a gun at anyone, including Princess Love.” According to Fox LA, the Los Angeles City Prosecutor charged Ray J with six misdemeanors and was released on $50,000 bail.

In January, Ray J was reportedly hospitalized with pneumonia and heartache. (The Mayo Clinic refers to pneumonia as an infection that affects the lungs, often caused by a viral or bacterial infection.)
TMZ reported that he suffered from the disease in 2021 and “thought he might die.” US Weekly Ray J’s representatives at the time were contacted for comment.

In the background of the video, a friend tells Ray J not to “say that,” adding, “Fuck the doctor.” However, Ray J reinforced that sentiment.
“I shouldn’t have worked so hard, man,” Ray J said. “My baby mama is going to be transgender, and my kids are going to be transgender. If they want to spend all the money, they can spend it. I’m doing my job here. Damn it, when this is done, burn me, don’t bury me.”
Ray J went on to express his gratitude to his parents and sister Brandy for helping him see doctors and pay for his medical bills “for the rest of the year.”
While Ray J didn’t provide any more information about his health, he shared in another social media video on January 25 that he “almost died.”
“My heart was only beating 25 percent,” he said. “But as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be fine, so thank you for your prayers.”
In an interview with TMZ on Thursday, January 29, Ray J went on to explain that his heartbeat was only at 60 percent, “half of his heartbeat.” Heart has turned black”, according to his doctor.
Ray J noted that he already takes several cholesterol medications, some of which are for people at “high risk” of heart failure.
