Prosecutors have new theory about beauty influencer’s death Stephanie Pieper.
According to German media reports on Wednesday, March 18, Pieper’s autopsy report stated that the content creator died due to strangulation of the neck Bild. The forensic pathologist also found that Pieper had suffered “significant facial injuries” that could have been caused by punching or being transported in a suitcase. A spokesman for the Graz prosecutor’s office told the media that investigators did not rule out the theory that Pieper was still alive when he was put in the suitcase.

It was reported in November 2025 that Pieper disappeared after attending a holiday party. Her ex-boyfriend is a suspect in her disappearance, and Austrian news media reported that some of Pieper’s neighbors heard an argument and saw her ex-boyfriend before she disappeared.
“Subsequent investigations suspected that the woman’s 31-year-old ex-boyfriend might be involved in her disappearance,” Styrian police said in a statement at the time. “The man is believed to have driven to Slovenia several times. Investigating police were unable to contact him.”
Germany’s Crown newspaper reported at the time that Pieper’s ex-husband was arrested in Slovenia. The ex-boyfriend was found after police received a call about a “fire in the parking lot of a casino near the border” in Sentili.
“This is the 31-year-old man’s car,” police said at the time. “He was found near the burning vehicle and arrested by Slovenian police. Extradition to Austria has been requested.”
Swiss authorities have arrested the husband of a former Miss Switzerland finalist, accusing him of strangling her to death and then dismembering and mixing her body parts.
