Timothy Busfield Compared to a disgraceful gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar At child sexual abuse case director hearing
Prosecutors mentioned Nassar, 62, during arguments during a hearing on Tuesday, January 20, in Busfield, New Mexico.
“The boys never said that the abuse never occurred when they were alone with the defendant… They never said that it happened when they were alone with the defendant, so these arguments from the defense and the physical evidence presented are inconsistent with the testimony they gave and the children’s disclosures,” an attorney said. “The boys also revealed how it made them feel and how uncomfortable they were.”
The attorney argued that while many claimed Bousfield couldn’t have abused the child actors because they were never alone with him, the possibility of abuse still exists.
“The children did not say it happened when they were alone. We see every day that child sexual abuse can happen in front of several people,” the lawyer told the court. “We know this from well-known cases. We know from the Larry Nassar case that he physically and sexually abused patients in front of their parents. We know that these incidents and these crimes can happen in front of other people who don’t recognize or see what’s going on.”
Nassar previously served as the team physician for the U.S. Women’s National Gymnastics Team from 1996 to 2014. In 2016, Nassar was arrested and charged with sexual assault over 200 young women and girls under the guise of medical care.

The following year, Nassar was sentenced to an additional 40 to 175 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to seven counts of sexual assault. Nassar is was additionally sentenced Served 40 to 125 years in a Michigan prison after pleading guilty to three additional sexual assault counts. Nassar remains in prison for life without the possibility of parole.
Earlier this month, Busfield accused of sexual abuse Featuring two child actors working on his show “The Cleaning Lady”. The alleged incidents occurred between 2022 and 2024. A warrant was issued for Busfield’s arrest and he surrendered to police on January 13. Busfield has strongly denied the allegations.
“I’m going to face these lies. They’re horrific… and I’m going to fight them. I’m going to fight them with a great team and I’m going to be exonerated. I know I’m innocent because it’s all wrong and it’s all lies,” he claimed in a video shared with TMZ earlier this month.
A judge ruled Tuesday that Busfield should be released from prison. Bousfield’s release is conditional on him attending all future hearings and maintaining contact with his attorney. Bousfield may not have had a gun, and he could not have had any contact with the alleged victim.
The judge did not take away Bousfield’s ability to travel. Bousfield’s next court hearing has not yet been scheduled.
