Andrew was arrested early Thursday morning at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, where he had moved after leaving his home in Windsor, the BBC reported. Unmarked police cars were reportedly spotted near the former Prince’s home.
US Weekly Andrew’s lawyers and Buckingham Palace have been contacted for comment.
Earlier this month, Thames Valley Police Confirmed to BBC Allegations that Andrew shared confidential information with a convicted sex offender under evaluation Jeffrey Epstein Also serves as UK Trade Envoy. He held this position from 2001 to 2011.
Following the BBC report, the police force also confirmed in early February that it was assessing allegations that a woman was trafficked by Epstein to the UK to have sex with Andrew. “In discussions with the King and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded that the ongoing allegations against me are a distraction from His Majesty the King and the work of the Royal Family,” Andrew said in a statement at the time. “I have decided, as always, to put my responsibilities to my family and country first. I stand by the decision I made five years ago to stay away from public life. With His Majesty’s consent, we feel I must now go a step further. As a result, I will no longer use my title or the honours bestowed upon me. As I have said before, I firmly deny the allegations against me.”
The downfall of the Andrew royal family began in 2019 Virginia Giuffre Defendant Andrew Epstein sexually assaulted her after she was trafficked when she was 17. Giuffre committed suicide in April 2025 at the age of 41. She settled her lawsuit against Andrew in 2022 for an undisclosed sum. Andrew has always denied her accusations.
Epstein, meanwhile, committed suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. He is 66 years old.
