“As we work with our partners to investigate this alleged criminal conduct, it is important to protect the integrity and objectivity of the investigation,” he continued. “We understand there is significant public interest involved in this case and we will provide an update in due course.”
Andrew was arrested early Thursday morning at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, where he had moved after leaving his home in Windsor, the BBC reported. Unmarked police cars were reportedly spotted near the former Prince’s home.
US Weekly Andrew’s lawyers and Buckingham Palace have been contacted for comment.
