“For the most part, I hated being pregnant. I felt so uncomfortable,” Hewitt, 29, wrote in one post. Eller This article was published on Wednesday, February 2026. “I was constantly sick, exhausted and in pain.”
Before Scotty was born, Hewitt shared In November 2025, she told fans on social media that she had been “in pain from the beginning (of the pregnancy) and it was getting worse.” At the time, the model suspected that her battle with endometriosis, a reproductive disease in which tissue grows outside the uterus, was “closely related” to the onset of her Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder. (Hewitt underwent laparoscopic surgery shortly before becoming pregnant.)
“Due to my previous reproductive health issues, I chose to be cared for by an ob-gyn rather than a midwife,” she writes in her book Eller prose. “It’s the most clinical approach to pregnancy and birth – not my preferred approach – but I feel like I need it for my health and safety.”
She continued, “I find myself in yet another frustrating period of self-advocacy within a medical system that often fails to listen seriously to women.”

“When people asked me if I was going to breastfeed, my thought process was layered,” she recalls. “The most important thing to me is doing what’s best for my baby. I will always do what’s best for her.”
She acknowledges that breastfeeding is often considered the “gold standard” because it “provides antibodies, unparalleled nutrition and a powerful bond,” despite the potential for serious complications for mothers. Hewitt points to the “physical” challenges new mothers face when adjusting to breastfeeding.
One option for mothers is to feed their newborns formula, although Hewitt struggles with the common perception of using formula as a “safe alternative” when “something goes wrong.”

Kevin Winter/Getty Images“Even before I got pregnant, I was aware of the stigma attached to formula feeding,” she wrote. “It took me some time to overcome the stigma and explore the moral hierarchy of breastfeeding to confirm that what’s best for me and what’s best for my baby don’t exist on different levels or rankings—they’re the same.”
Ultimately, Hewitt believes it’s important to consider your own “mental health” and “healing” before deciding not to breastfeed.
“I was lucky enough to not feel pressure to breastfeed from people in my life. My partner didn’t push me in any one direction,” she recalls. “My mother, who was proud to breastfeed my sisters and me, went out of her way to tell me that the decision was entirely mine. She said nothing more and her restraint meant a lot to me. The OB-GYN and hospital staff also made no attempt to convince me otherwise.”

In the same Instagram post, Hewitt described “Scotty” as undoubtedly her “best work yet.”
“I’m filled with love, gratitude and disbelief,” she smiles, and Davidson humorously adds, “Wu-Tang Forever.”

For her part, Hewitt admits the urge to have more children so soon after Scottie’s arrival was a little surprising.

Hewitt and Davidson were first linked in March 2025 and announced they were expecting their first child four months later.
