Netflix gave us Early release of first Christmas gifts Peaky Blinders: The Immortals Movie trailer.
The minute-long clip, released on Wednesday, December 24, begins in gray Cillian Murphy Reprising his role as “Gypsy Gangster” Tommy Shelby.
“What happened to Tommy Shelby?” a voiceover can be heard saying, playing clips of the elderly Tommy living a reclusive life.
“I’m not that guy anymore,” Murphy, 49, said in his infamous Birmingham drawl. A female voice – presumably his sister Ida Shelby (Sophie Randall) – can also be heard telling Tommy that he has to “come back”.
Explosions and angry flashes from Tommy’s side show up on the screen, take a brief look Barry Keoghan‘s debut. The 33-year-old Irish actor hasn’t revealed many details about his role yet, but it looks like he’ll be covered in tattoos for the role.
“I’ve always wanted to be a part of it,” Keoghan told empire in an interview published earlier this month. “But the timeline never came into play, or I didn’t fit the description of what they were looking for.”
Murphy called Keoghan and eventually struck a deal with the young actor.
“I said, ‘Sure, man. In a split second,'” Keoghan said. “I was like, ‘That would be great,’ yeah. Just to be able to work with myself again.”

Murphy played Tommy Shelby on the show for six seasons from 2013 to 2022. He starred alongside Randall, Paul Anderson, Joe Cole, Looking for Cole and late Helen McCrory In the British series.
After years of being asked whether he would return to the role, Murphy was confirmed in June 2024 to star in a Peaky Blinders movie, written by the show’s creator. Steven Knight.
“Tommy Shelby doesn’t seem to be done with me yet…” Murphy announced in a statement at the time. “I’m delighted to be working with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. It’s a work for the fans.”
At the time, Netflix also announced that Keoghan would be joining the cast, along with newcomers Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Stephen Graham, Ned Dennehy, Packie Lee, Ian Peck and Jay Lecurgo.

While much of the show takes place after World War I, the film is set during World War II. The film’s official synopsis explains that Tommy Shelby will return to “bombed Birmingham,” where he “participates in covert wartime missions based on true events, facing new threats as he considers his past and rising national interests.”
Although the movie is not over yet Peaky Blinders The franchise has been around forever and this will end Tommy Shelby’s chapter in the franchise.
“This is not over, let’s put it that way,” creator Knight told bbc breakfast February. “I’m not allowed to announce this, but I’m just saying that the world of Peak will continue.”
