Turner is missing into the woods behind his house on Nov. 20, 2025, shortly before he was charged with five counts of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor.
On Tuesday, February 9, rural Wise, Virginia held its third school board meeting since Turner’s disappearance.
‘I just want to keep the pressure on,’ Wise County parent Stephen Murray told news channel 11 at the meeting.

Murray added, “I just want to make sure that no one thinks we’re going to sweep this under the rug like we’ve done for years. I just want to keep reminding the citizens of this county that there’s a lot of abuse out there and we just need to keep focusing on it until things change.”

“I think it’s important now more than ever that they really understand that the community is hurting and the community does want change,” Murray said. “So, I do hope they are listening. I think this is just the beginning and the school board should get used to seeing these faces and hopefully more and more of them will show up.”
Another community member cited the district’s “lack of transparency” following Turner’s disappearance.
The board did not engage in any of the comments made during Tuesday night’s meeting, insisting they would respond when the group next meets.
The last time Turner saw his family was walking into the woods behind his home carrying a rifle.
In a statement released to US Weekly On December 3, 2025, Turner’s attorney explained to Turner’s family how their “last contact with Travis left them extremely concerned for his health.”

“Travis’ car and keys remain at home,” the statement revealed. “Travis wears contacts during the day and glasses at night. Travis’ contact lens supplies and glasses are left at home. Travis’ wallet, driver’s license, cash and all of their belongings are left at home.”
The family’s statement continued, “Travis was prescribed some of the daily medications he needed, which were left at home. It did not appear that Travis was missing or far from home.”
Turner is married to his wife, Leslie Caudill Turnersince 2001, the couple has three children together: son Bailey25, is also a Union High School football staff member, and Graydon21 years old, with daughter Brinley11.
“Leslie begs you to go home and defend yourself in court to face the charges,” the family pleaded. “Don’t let your family fight this battle without you. They love you and miss you. They want you to know they have your back.”
