In his social media post, Olympic The bronze medalist shared some photos of his injuries, including a bruised eye, after a fall in Tempe, Arizona.

After revealing his multiple injuries, Houston received support from many fans, including some athletes who know what it’s like to be in the hospital.

While Houston has already represented the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics, the athlete has previously expressed his determination to compete in the upcoming 2028 Games in Los Angeles.

I plan on going there,” Houston told Reuters August 2025. “It helps get extra motivation because I lived in Southern California for a long time and skateboarding thrives here. It’s Southern California life.”
It’s unclear whether Houston’s fractured skull and eye socket will have any impact on his plans to play in 2028.
A native of Northern California, Houston developed a loyal following in the skateboarding community after teaching himself the sport through trial and error. At age 7, he signed his first sponsorship deal, and at age 10, he won the 2010 Tampa Amateur Championship.
He has won multiple gold medals at the SLS World Championships and X Games.
“We really just go out there and it depends on how we’re feeling that day and how hard we want to push ourselves,” Houston explained and! information 2021 is all about skateboarding. “That’s what’s fun about it compared to most other sports. There are so many ways to have fun with it, so many different things to do and ways to skate, and ways to be creative and always change it up and challenge yourself.”

Eventually, Houston couldn’t help but return to his first love, skateboarding. After all, every time you skate is a new experience.
“We’re often on the side of the road looking for good stairs, railings, ledges or whatever,” he previously told E! News. “We really look at things so differently, with all the buildings and stuff. That’s the coolest part about skateboarding. We’re out there skating some stuff that we shouldn’t be skating on.”
