According to the documents obtained via TMZ On Wednesday, April 8, the rapper (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) was sued by Motor City Casino and Hotel for breach of contract, fraud and other charges. The casino claims that Offset opened a $100,000 credit line to the casino in March 2024.
The casino’s lawsuit alleges that they were unable to contact Offset to pay the alleged debt, so they attempted to withdraw the money directly from the musician’s account – an agreement allegedly made when Offset opened a line of credit. The casino claimed there were insufficient funds in Offset’s account to repay the debt.

Two days before MotorCity Casino filed its lawsuit, news broke that Offset was shot Near the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
“We can confirm that Offset was shot and is currently hospitalized,” a rep for the rapper told Complex in a statement on Monday, April 6. “He is in stable condition and is being closely monitored.”

“We are aware of an incident that occurred in the valet parking area outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood just after 7 p.m. on Monday, resulting in one person suffering non-life-threatening injuries and being transported to Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital,” a police spokesperson told the media. “Seminole police responded to the scene immediately and the situation was quickly brought under control. Officers have detained two people. The investigation is ongoing. The scene is safe and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue to operate normally.”
