A Plymouth, Massachusetts police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave while state police investigate allegations that she sexually abused children.

After state police notified the Plymouth Police Department, Sgt. Samantha Perlin She has been officially suspended from her position since Tuesday, March 17, as she is the subject of a criminal investigation.

Pelrine, who reportedly joined the department in 2022, was assigned to patrol while on leave patriot ledger.

The police department said in a news release that it is conducting an internal investigation “to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding Officer Perrin’s alleged conduct.” The post added, “Conduct that violates department policy or state law will not be tolerated.”

The Plymouth Police Department has not shared any other information about her leave.

During her time off, court documents show Pelrine, 31, was accused of sexually and physically abusing a minor for years, and she and her husband Daniel Friendtaken care of.

Pelrine, 37, and Forand are both accused of abusing the victim starting when she was 12, according to a prevention of abuse order filed in Plymouth Court. boston.com.

The plaintiffs allege that they met Perlin and Folland through the plaintiff’s aunt, who attended the same church as the couple.

The couple adopted the 12-year-old children and became their legal guardians, and the alleged sexual and physical abuse began soon after, documents say.

The alleged victim claimed that Perrin and Forland “sexually assaulted me prior to 2025 and physically assaulted me prior to 2026,” according to the documents.

“They were looking for me and I feared for my safety,” the alleged victim said in the affidavit.

The couple have since been banned from contacting or abusing the complainant and ordered to stay 100 yards away from him.

Perlin was also ordered to surrender his firearm, ammunition, firearms license and firearms purchaser’s identification card while leaving the police station.

Perrin and Forland have not yet been formally charged, and it is unclear whether they have retained legal representation during the investigation. There was no immediate response from the Plymouth Police Department. US WeeklyRequest for comment.
