singer Karina Pasian She responded after her outfit angered some during the NFL’s first trip to Spain during the playing of the U.S. national anthem.
Pasian, 34, sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” before a game between the Miami Dolphins and Washington Commanders in Madrid on Sunday, November 16, wearing a sparkly black mini dress, stockings, garters and heels.
“I didn’t mean to offend anyone,” Pasian told TMZ Sports Tuesday, November 18th. “I’m really sorry if anyone was offended by that. But that wasn’t my intention. My intention was to have fun. My look was super cabaret, super zany. That’s the aesthetic I love. I really appreciate that aesthetic. I just wanted to elevate the look I already had to suit the occasion.”
She added, “I’m so proud and I feel great about the clothes I chose.”
Pacian said her costume had been approved by the NFL “days ago,” but that didn’t stop social media from being flooded with critics after her performance.
“Low necklines, garters and stockings… for the national anthem?” one person wrote byX. “Only the NFL can turn the Star-Spangled Banner into a lingerie show! What was she thinking?”

“I feel very honored,” she said. “I loved it so much. It was so surreal. I just wanted to pay tribute to America and I wanted to do an amazing job.”
Passian revealed on social media that she was wearing vintage clothes Marc Jacobs dress, her stylists turned it into “their own unique piece.”
“You have a huge talent and I’m so grateful to have you on my team and I couldn’t be happier with this look!!!” Parsian shared via Instagram Tuesday.
Passian, who was born in New York but now lives in Madrid, said in another post that she has many supporters to help overpower her critics.

The NFL’s first regular-season game in Spain is part of the league’s international series designed to help grow the sport overseas.
In addition to the matches in Madrid, the league has hosted matches in Brazil, Ireland, England and Germany this season.
