Netflix is ​​growing into child’s play with a new standalone app

Netflix is ​​launching a new stand-up children’s game show called Netflix Playground, the company said he announced on Monday. Netflix Playground is available as part of a Netflix subscription, and contains no ads or in-app purchases.

Netflix says the app gives kids access to a “growing” library of games for kids. Netflix Playground is launching with themes featuring characters from popular children’s games.

The app, which is designed for children under the age of eight, is now available in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, the Philippines, and New Zealand. It will go global on April 28. The app is available on both iOS and Android.

It can be accessed online without a mobile phone or Wi-Fi connection, which the company says makes it “the perfect companion for airplanes or long trips.”

For example, one game is called “Playtime With Peppa Pig,” and sees players “jump into Peppa’s world with a series of games.” There is also a “Sesame Street” game where players try to match the memory card or connect the dots. Other titles include, “Let’s Choose,” “Storybots,” “Bad Dinosaurs,” and more.
