NASA astronauts photograph Northern Lights from space

On November 17, NASA astronaut Zena Cardman captured the glow of the Northern Lights from above aboard the International Space Station.

“I’ve never seen the aurora from below, but here it’s a frequent show,” she said.

Cadman served as commander of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-11 mission, which left Earth on August 1, according to the space agency.

She encouraged viewers of the video to look for Houston and Florida while watching.
