My 600 lbs. Life The show premiered in 2012 on TLC. While the first season was filmed over a seven-year period, the show adapted its format to follow the cast for a year starting in season two. By season eight, some stars had only been filming for six months.
The reality show first experienced tragedy in 2013, when the star of the first season henry ford dead. Five years later, the Lexington County Coroner’s Office in South Carolina confirmed US Weekly That James “LB” Bonner dead By committing suicide.
“On the show, viewers saw LB battle obesity after injuring his right leg in a tragic accident. Although LB weighed 650 pounds at one point, LB’s hard work and dedication helped him reach 200 pounds,” the network said in a statement after his untimely death in August 2018. “The spirit and determination shown in his story quickly made LB a fan favorite, and family and friends commemorated his life on LB’s Facebook page. TLC is deeply saddened to learn of LB’s passing and is honored to share his honest and courageous story on My 600-Lb Life.”
That same month, Season 6 star Fleming died at age 50, and her daughter Danielle told TMZ, “She was sick, she was tired, she was dying.”
2025, Season 3 participant Porter and Season 11 participant LaTonia Botan Both men died. They are 62 and 40 years old respectively.
