A Louisiana woman has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing her one-year-old child on New Year’s Day.
According to a spokesperson for the Sulfur Police Department. Major Jason Gurleythe police received a call Christine Bass Go home after 8pm on Thursday, January 1st. Upon arrival, authorities reportedly discovered the mother had allegedly shot her infant daughter, Aisling Moss.
Bass, 28, was taken into custody and charged with one count of first-degree murder. She is currently in jail with bail set at $10 million.

The father claimed he heard a loud bang, which was later confirmed to be the gun exploding, and rushed into the room, allegedly finding Aisling shot to death. Bass was allegedly still armed when the father arrived at the scene.

“I almost lost two children. I lost one because her mother wanted to send her to God,” he claimed to the outlet. “(My oldest daughter) said, ‘Dad, help me.’ Kristen said, ‘I just gave our baby to God.’ She said, ‘Now I have to hold her.'”
Moss confirmed that the Department of Children and Family Services took over custody of the surviving children following the incident. The child’s condition is currently unknown. Bass’s exact motive for killing his daughter remains unknown.
