A woman was arrested after abandoning her children during an October 2025 incident, driving across several states and eventually hitting a woman with her car after arriving in Indiana.

A warrant was issued for Wilkerson’s arrest after he allegedly hit Curley’s vehicle head-on, according to court documents obtained in Grant County, Indiana. Weixin.
Wilkerson, 31, is alleged to have driven her black BMW through a farmer’s fence during a “reckless drive” before ending up in a dairy pasture. When she returned to the road, Wilkerson reportedly hit Colley’s Chevrolet. The collision trapped Corley inside the car, causing her fatal injuries.
Court documents say authorities began receiving reports about Wilkerson’s driving 18 minutes before the crash.
Police believe Wilkerson first began her reckless journey in the upstate New York village of Corinth after allegedly abandoning her children.
Wilkerson’s family told police she was “suicidal.” However, it is unclear why she left her children or if there was any specific reason that led to this decision.
Officials corroborated Wilkerson’s claims of abandoning the children by reviewing child abandonment reports filed by Saratoga County law enforcement and issuing welfare checks, court documents show.
After leaving New York, Wilkerson appears to have headed west to Indiana.
The incident occurred on October 1, 2025. Around 4 p.m., police responded to a state highway near Oak Hill High School in Converse, Indiana, after receiving reports of “reckless driving” in a black BMW.
When police arrived, they found Wilkerson’s BMW on fire. Police helped Wilkerson out of the car and she was flown by helicopter to a hospital for treatment of “serious” injuries.
Colley was also removed from the vehicle and taken to hospital, where he later died.
The victim’s death was initially ruled an accident, and an autopsy determined her cause of death was blunt force trauma to the torso and left extremity. However, the ruling changed when police investigated the accident and determined how irresponsible Wilkerson’s driving had been.
Following the investigation, police issued an arrest warrant for Wilkerson on February 13. She was charged with reckless homicide and reckless driving, according to online records. US Weekly.
Wilkerson was located in Venice, Florida and was arrested by deputies on February 17, according to Sarasota County authorities.
She is being held in the Sarasota County Jail and is expected to be extradited back to Indiana to face charges.
As of the time of publication, it was unclear whether Wilkerson had entered a plea or retained legal representation.
