The episode on Monday, March 23, acknowledged Maggie’s absence following serial killer Ray DiStefano (Matthew Rauch) killed her sister Irene (Adrienne Rose Bengtsson). Peregrine, 43, is expected to return on the March 30 episode of the hit CBS series, which will see Maggie return to work after wrapping up her career.I am mourning her deceased siblings.
“When you go through something as painful as losing your sister… you feel each other, and you feel when someone is going through something really heavy,” Juliana Aiden Martinez been teased before TV Insider Maggie returns on Wednesday, March 18th.
“So, I do think the team’s concerns are legitimate, and everyone is going to react differently in terms of how they’re given personal space,” she added. “So, yeah, I think the team wants to make sure Maggie is OK.”
Meanwhile, Peregrine has denied plans to leave the show following Maggie’s personal shake-up.
“I’ll be honest. I’m on a procedural show and I wonder what impact that might have? It scares me sometimes because I think we’re highlighting some of the horrors of being human every week,” Peregrine told Deadline. “What is this? What are we doing this for? What am I dedicating so much of my life to doing this for?”
Pellegrin I was relieved after seeing How the show will elevate relevant themes on screen.
“I think what we’re doing is really important because we emphasize how to move forward. Everyone experiences loss. Everyone goes through emotional depths in life,” she explained. “You have the opportunity to show connection, relationship, intimacy and growth. That’s why I do what I do. I hope it makes people feel seen and makes them want to keep going after such a horrific experience and not give up.”
Pellegrin hopeful about the plan For the show. “So far. I was like, ‘What are we going to do after this?’ You know, I’ve been playing the same character for eight years and we’re getting so far,” she noted. “What’s the plan? How are we going to go through the next steps and get back on our feet and engage with the world again? We’re not a show where you sit on the couch in your underwear and talk. We have to get back to work.”
She concluded, “So at what point are we addressing the reality of this scene, and we’re doing that in the best way possible on our show, just like we do procedurally. But you know, as much as it scares me, I’m terrified of finally getting into that space. I find it really fun to play my character now and find the beats of when I can plug these things in and when they work. It’s just a challenge. It feels like we’re on a new show again, you know what I mean? Maybe that’s a gift.”
