Microsoft’s shutdown is preventing business customers from accessing inboxes, files, meetings, and other Microsoft cloud services.
The chief engineer said in a post on X around 2:30 pm ET that the outage was due to “a North American service unit that is not processing traffic as expected.” Microsoft did not say in detail what caused the suspension, but said it was “working to restore the infrastructure to a healthy state to continue.”
Microsoft said on his website that termination affects its Exchange Online email service, searching for files within SharePoint Online or OneDrive, and creating chats, meetings, or adding members to its video platform, Groups.
This shutdown also prevents admins from accessing their Microsoft Purview and Defender XDR dashboards and their administrative center.
We will reach out to Microsoft for comment – as soon as our email comes back, which is Microsoft, it will be back to normal.
