“We definitely want to make sure we give it a true story and make it interesting and believable,” Grimes told People of The Marshal in June 2025. “What if it was just, ‘Well, he’s happy’ — and we just watched him be happy? That wouldn’t be cool. But I will say that the idea that was presented to me was really, really good and really interesting, and it really appealed to me, and I think it’s going to appeal to the audience as well.”
He continued: “There’s going to be some familiar faces. There’s going to be a lot of new faces too, so we’ll see how it all feels. It’s going to be a transition to get back into this in a new environment.”

“I struggle every day to escape the weight of Yellowstone. I lost my teammates, my parents, even my brother,” Keys says in a narration, as video shows him heading to a makeshift grave for his loved one.
Case hinted that he wanted to start over. “Sometimes good people have to do bad things,” he added. “But I’m trying to find a new beginning.”
In another clip, Keys said the “only thing” he wanted was “taken away” from him. His friend Pete (Green) is later seen giving a “wellness check” to Casey, who “needs to conquer a demon” after an off-screen situation. Keys provided another update on his personal life, saying, “Yellowstone is gone — and that’s true for most of my family, too.”
