Mark Zuckerberg says a future without smart glasses is ‘hard to imagine’

Mark Zuckerberg talked about his ambitions for Meta’s AI smart glasses business on Meta’s Q4 2025 earnings call on Wednesday.

After running his own company Reality Labs away from the metaverseThe meta is doubling down on its AI wearables, as well as its own Types of AI.

“Billions of people wear glasses or contacts to improve their vision. And I think we’re at the same time as when cell phones arrived, and it was clear that it was only a matter of time until all these phones became phones,” Zuckerberg said. “It’s hard to imagine a world in a few years where most of the glasses people wear aren’t AI glasses.”

He said sales of Meta glasses have tripled over the past year, and he believes they are “one of the fastest growing electronic products in history.”
