Man who caught Ariana Grande at premiere banned from Singapore

An Australian man who jumped a roadblock and grabbed Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been deported and banned from entering Singapore.

Wyn Johnson, 26 Sentenced to nine days in prison The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) told local media it has now been “barred from re-entering Singapore” as it constitutes a public nuisance.

Wen pushed past photographers and rushed toward the actress and singer, who was attending the Asia premiere of “Wicked: Forever” on November 13. Co-star Cynthia Erivo threw him off Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry’s Sydney concert in June this year.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with many accusing him of hurting Grande again.

The pop star spoke of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured hundreds at a concert in Manchester in May 2017.

During Moon’s trial, the court heard that he twice tried to crash the film’s premiere, according to Singapore media.

He then tried a second time to jump over the barricade. Security guards stopped him and pushed him to the ground.

Wen later posted a video thanking Grande for letting him walk on the carpet and saying he was “free.”

The next day, police arrested him and charged him with public nuisance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

Channel News Asia quoted District Judge Christopher Wu as saying Wen was “seeking attention,” adding that he was wrong to think he would suffer no consequences.

Grande has not commented on the case.

Erivo spoke about the incident in an interview with NBC, saying she was “just trying to make sure my friend was safe.”

“I’m sure he didn’t mean to hurt us, but you never know these things and I wanted to make sure she was okay. That was my first instinct,” she said.
