A woman was stabbed to death while working at a Georgia cell phone store in 2010, and authorities have named a suspect in the unsolved murder.

James, 58, of Wayne County, was arrested on Monday, March 2, the GBI said in a news release issued on Wednesday, March 4.
In a March 4 press conference, GBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jessica Hamilton “Known as a loving daughter, sister and devoted person,” Robinson said mother of four“.
“She was known for being family-oriented, people-oriented and hard-working,” Hamilton added.
According to Hamilton, on March 17, 2020, Robinson’s boyfriend called 911 to pick her up from get off work after arriving at the Prepaid Supermarket in Douglas, where Robinson worked.
Hamilton said her boyfriend found the store door locked. Hamilton said authorities responded and found Robinson stabbed to death in the back of the store. She was 32 years old at the time.
“Over the years, past and present GBI agents and investigators have conducted numerous interviews, collected evidence, conducted community surveys, reviewed surveillance footage from the area and continue to re-evaluate evidence for potential new leads,” Hamilton said.
“While this case may be considered cold, it will never be forgotten,” she added.
Following ongoing investigative work and testing of forensic evidence, James was linked to Robinson’s murder.
The GBI described James as “a co-worker of Robinson” who could “often be found” at the cellphone store where she worked.
As of March 4, it was unclear whether he had retained legal counsel.
At the press conference, one of Robinson’s children, Trey Robinsonsaid his mother’s death was “life-changing” for him and his “whole family.”
“My mom and I are very close,” Trey said.
He said he began working in law enforcement after she was killed and became a police officer in 2016.
“Fighting for justice and for the whole family has always been a goal of mine because my mom didn’t deserve what happened to her,” Trey said. “I’ve been fighting ever since, I’ve been fighting, I’ve been fighting for justice for her.”
Law enforcement has not specified a potential motive for Sandra’s killing.
The GBI is continuing to investigate her death.
“Upon completion of the investigation, the case file will be turned over to the Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the GBI said.
