Madison Pettis claims ex Michael Porter Jr. is a ‘psychopath’

Pettis, 27, appeared on “In a Dream with Owen Tiller” podcast earlier this month. While chatting with Tiller, Pettis said she was a big fan of basketball, leading him to ask her if she would consider dating an NBA player.

“Well, yeah,” she said before explaining her history with Porter Jr., “I mean, my ex-boyfriend is in the NBA now. He was in high school and college when we dated.”

Pettis also gave some insight into the alleged reasons for their split.

“I broke up with him before he joined the league because he was a psychopath,” she claimed. “I do think a lot of athletes are not good partners, but I wouldn’t rule it out because I do love what they do. I would respect them and enjoy talking to them about their passions.”

US Weekly Porter Jr. has been contacted for comment.

Pettis and Porter Jr., 27, dated from 2016 to 2017. Pettis is best known for her work as a child actor on the Disney Channel. She recently appeared in romantic comedies That’s how he is and wrong paris.

A year after the breakup, Porter Jr. was drafted by the Denver Nuggets. The forward won his first championship with the Nuggets in 2023. Two years later, Porter Jr. was traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

Porter Jr. has made headlines in recent years for his controversial dating comments. Last year, Porter Jr. said he would make women he dated listen to the polarizing podcast Andrew Tait Look at their reaction to his point. (Tate is known for promoting masculinity and attacking feminism.)

“So, I’m not saying I’m a misogynist or anything, but I’m going to throw in some Andrew Tate and see how they react,” Porter Jr. said on a 2025 appearance on the “A Night with Stany” podcast. “I would bring up some dialogue, play devil’s advocate, just to see how the girl felt about certain things.”

Porter Jr. also said he prefers to date women who haven’t dated other NBA stars.

“I feel like if you’re dating publicly as a player, it’s going to be difficult because … it’s going to be difficult dating someone’s old girl and they always have this attitude about you,” he said on the “Curious Mike” podcast in September 2025. “It could be a sense of self-awareness or it could be I don’t know… I’m open to change and I’m not stuck in my ways.”
