Lucid Motors seems to have solved its initial problems with the hardware and software of the Gravity SUV, but the company is not out of the woods yet: he remembered for more than 4,000 Gravity SUVs after detecting a problem with the seat belts.
The company told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that, during a separate safety test in January, it found some of the SUV’s second-seat seat anchors were not properly attached. This increases the risk that the seat belts will not hold the occupants in place in a collision.
Lucid Motors said the problem is a result of their seat suppliers changing their manufacturing process “without Lucid’s knowledge or approval.” The supplier has reverted to Lucid Motors, and only Gravity SUVs manufactured before February 14, 2026 are affected.
The automaker says it will inspect all Gravity SUVs affected by the recall, and install a new bracket or seat, depending on the type of weld.
