Joseph Dugger arrested On Wednesday, March 18, at approximately 3 p.m., the Tontitown, Arkansas Police Department issued an alert. Authorities obtained an arrest warrant from Bay County, where the alleged incident occurred, according to a news release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

A Bay County Sheriff’s Office news release outlines two charges against Joseph Dugar. Category 1: Lewd and lascivious conduct involving molestation of a victim under the age of 12. The second type: obscene and lewd behavior by people over 18 years old.
Who brought the charges against Joseph Dugar?
The alleged victim is a 14-year-old girl and the alleged incident occurred in 2020, approximately six years before his arrest. Joseph Duggar allegedly sexually abused the girl when she was 9 years old during a family vacation in Panama City Beach.
“The victim reported that Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap,” Bay City police said in a statement. “As the vacation continued, he also made her sit on the couch next to him and covered them with a blanket. During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and abrased her genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub her thighs with his hands.”
The victim told a detective with the Tondetown, Ark., Police Department during a forensic interview, “Multiple incidents of sexual abuseAccording to the affidavit obtained, involving Joseph people. Joseph was 25 at the time, and his wife, Kendra Duggar, was pregnant with their third child.
The plaintiff recalled feeling “uncomfortable” and “confused” during the incident. Joseph “eventually located the victim and apologized for his actions,” at which point “the incident no longer occurred,” the report states.
Has Joseph Dugar spoken out since his arrest?
There has been no statement from Joseph Dugar or his legal representatives. His wife, Kendra Duggar, has yet to comment on his arrest.
Did Joseph Dugar appear in court?
Joseph Duggar appeared virtually in court on March 20. He did not enter a plea and waived his right to an extradition hearing. The reality star is currently awaiting extradition to Florida.
