American actor and wrestler John Cena fought in his final 16-match retirement tournament in Washington on Saturday night, ending a 24-year illustrious career that saw him become one of wrestling’s biggest and most recognizable stars.
The 48-year-old announced his retirement in July 2024, telling fans at the time that he was “in pain” and “screaming to end this chapter”.
However, it has been confirmed that he will continue to be part of the WWE family after signing a five-year ambassador deal.
At the end of Saturday’s match, fans gave Senna a standing ovation and he left the field for the final time to thunderous applause.
