Jessie J marks 4th anniversary of miscarriage with on-stage collapse

According to video, the 37-year-old singer broke down on stage while marking the fourth anniversary of her miscarriage on Thursday, November 28. Sharer Daily Mail.

Jessie (real name Jessica Ellen Cornish) was visibly emotional as she introduced her new song “Comes in Waves” as she explained to the audience that the song was inspired by her own pregnancy loss and grief.

“Today is the four-year anniversary of losing my baby,” Jesse told viewers, according to the video clip. “I don’t know if anyone has gone through the same thing, but if you have, or you know someone close to you and you see it, it’s really terrible.”

She added, “It’s something you can never really prepare for. This song is for anyone who needs a hug. I hope this song helps you like it helped me.”

Jessie explained how she felt after doctors told her in November 2021 that her baby’s heart was no longer beating.

“I remember just going home and not processing it,” she recalled.

Jess shared that the “worst moment of the whole experience” was the loneliness she felt while grieving and losing.

“I feel like I’ve got everything I want, and then someone goes, ‘But you can’t have it,'” she said on the podcast. “I’ve never felt so alone in my life.”

In 2021, Jesse had yet to publicly reveal that she was pregnant after deciding to have a baby on her own, but eventually decided to post the news of her miscarriage on social media.

“Yesterday morning, a friend and I were laughing and saying, ‘Seriously, how am I going to do tomorrow night’s show in LA without telling everyone in the audience that I’m pregnant?'” Jessie captioned a Nov. 24 Instagram selfie with a pregnancy test. “By yesterday afternoon I was starting to dread the thought of finishing the show without collapsing… After my third scan I was told there was no more heartbeat 💔.”

She further detailed her grief, adding, “I decided to have a baby myself. Because it was all I wanted and life is short. The pregnancy itself was a miracle and an experience I will never forget and one I know I will go through again. I am still in shock and the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong and I know I will be okay.”
