“Guys, I’m not sure how I feel about this ‘Jessica’ trend, which is apparently trending with moms and toddlers and now with dogs — it’s kind of magical and I’m going to try it on my dog,” Beal, 44, said in a video shared via TikTok on Friday, April 10. “Because I feel like half the kids in these videos look petrified.”
The Valentine actress is responding to the now-viral parenting trend of parents suddenly, loudly and unapologetically yelling the name “Jessica” repeatedly during their young children’s tantrums. According to the trend, the goal is to confuse or distract the child until they stop throwing a tantrum.
“I’m really happy that I can put my name into your family and I’m sure I join the many other incredible Jessicas around the world and help you with your child’s tantrums,” she continued. “But I kind of felt like these kids were scared. They looked like they were scared and hoping Jessica wouldn’t show up.”
