James Van Der Beek brother Jared A heartbreaking tribute has been paid to his brother following his death.

“There is a special bond between brothers and that physical bond was broken two days ago. I now know why people call it heartbreak when they lose someone close to them,” Jared wrote.
He added, “There’s a feeling of devastation and pain that sinks deep inside. I didn’t know it would hurt so much.”
In addition to a carousel of throwback photos of their family over the years, Jared also paid tribute to James and shared more details about their close relationship.
“He is my guy and I go to him for anything. I have looked up to him since I was born. He is always there for me whenever I need him,” Jared wrote.
He continued: “It was amazing to read how he touched so many lives, not because of what he did, but because of who he was. He shared with others with an open heart and wise soul. Although the pain deep down was painful, with the outpouring of love, prayers and support, healing has begun. I really appreciate all of you taking the time to reach out and let me know you were there. The community of people so closely involved in his passing is amazing. Jared concluded his post by saying he misses James and will always love him.
“James, I already miss your body and your words of wisdom on the phone. However, I also feel your presence strongly and I know you will continue to guide me,” he wrote. “Thank you for living with me. I love you.”
Followers took to the comments section to share their support for Jared, including James’ former player dawson creek supporting role Kerr Smith.
“Jared…I’m so sorry for your loss. I still can’t process it all,” Smith, 53, wrote. “I can’t even imagine what you are going through. Please know you are in my thoughts. ❤️🙏😢”

James announced his death in a statement via his social media account on Wednesday.
“Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed away peacefully this morning. He lived his final days with courage, faith and grace,” the statement read. “There is much to share about his wishes, love for humanity and the sanctity of time. Those days will come. For now, we ask for peaceful privacy as we mourn our dear husband, father, son, brother and friend.”
After his death, a GoFundMe campaign launched To raise funds for his widow Kimberly VanderBeek and the couple’s six children.
