influencer Dan Bilzerian Entering the world of politics.
Bilzerian, 45, filed papers on Tuesday, April 7, to challenge Representative Randy Fine for Florida’s 6th Congressional District seat, according to the Federal Election Commission Record. Bilzerian is running as a Republican.
The social media star with nearly 30 million Instagram followers announced his intention to seek public office earlier this month.
“Yeah, I’m running,” he told daytona beach news magazine In a statement on April 1. “Everything is in order now.”
Bilzerian further told the media that “he will be happy to talk about the election once (he) is officially registered, which should be within a week at the latest”.
Bilzerian is Known for his topless photos on Instagramusually depicting a party lifestyle. He started sharing political commentary in 2024.
“I realized that the whole hedonism thing wasn’t my cup of tea and it didn’t make me happy,” Bilzerian said on “Modern Wisdom.” podcast August 2024. “I started to realize, just like I started to realize that money didn’t make me happy, but I still chased money for a long time. I wanted to get off the hedonistic treadmill.”
The influencer added that he “went to the edge of the earth” trying to chase wealth and lust.
“There was a point – I mean, there was definitely a point where I was on a 300-foot yacht with 30 girls and I was like, ‘I should be excited,’ but I wasn’t,” he said. “My energy was pulled in so many different directions. I just remember surfing with my friends, going on a couple of vacations (and) all the things I had done before, which made me happier.”
Although Bilzerian admitted he had a “fun time” Million dollar trips around the world and blowout partieshe eventually found going out less enjoyable.
“I had kind of forgotten about it because I realized I was happier having a girlfriend than doing the harem thing,” he added. “Then, I felt a little bit trapped because now I have a brand and now I have to do this. It’s almost like COVID saved me… It’s more fun when you choose.”
Bilzerian continued, “There was a time when I was a slave to my own creation…because then I spent two years writing (my book) set up) and then zoom out and look at my life and the things that make me happy and the things that don’t make me happy. It was really eye-opening. “
