Karen and Jill Getting married in November 2024days before he was diagnosed with cancer.

“Last weekend marked our one year wedding anniversary. Nothing could have prepared us for the journey ahead of us,” Karen wrote via Instagram earlier this month. “On the third day of our wedding, Jamie became seriously unwell. What was supposed to be a month-long stay in Rome turned into a 10-day hospital stay.”

After Karen and Gil returned to Ireland, doctors discovered he had a malignant tumor.

“Just two weeks before Christmas, Jamie underwent major surgery and doctors Cancerous tumors found” She explained at the time. “Our world fell apart in an instant, but we remained strong. Jamie bravely faced 10 rounds of chemotherapy. There have been ups and downs along the way, but nothing could have prepared us for what would happen after his tenth meeting. “

Earlier this fall, Jamie was hospitalized with pneumonia and sepsis and eventually learned his cancer was back.

“My world feels shattered and my blood is still cold, but I know this: my husband is a fighter,” she wrote on Nov. 14. “We won’t give up.”

Karen further revealed that Jill’s diagnosis marked a “devastating” chapter in their marriage.

“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to articulate Jamie’s strength throughout this journey,” she wrote in her upload. “His incredibly positive attitude and mindset, even in the darkest moments, never ceased to amaze me. Seeing someone you love suffer and feel so helpless is unimaginably hard. I feel guilty every day because all I want to do is trade places or take them away, but I can’t.”

“‘An absolute star’ is the easiest way to describe Jamie Gill, but he’s so much more than that,” Influencer James Kavanagh by writing Instagram Saturday. “He gave everyone around him his undivided attention, if you will. He listened, was always full of enthusiasm and advice, and had the most sincere desire to see his friends and family flourish.”

Kavanagh, 36, also shared a message for Karen, adding: “My love for you grows every day and your loyal friends and family and I will be with you every step of the way.”
