Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano erupts, raining down volcanic debris

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the depth of the spray reached 1,300 feet (400M). Kilauea’s plume dropped ash into Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and into neighboring communities, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Pozzolana are glassy volcanic fragments composed of volcanic ash, pumice, scoria, Pele’s hair, and reticulite, formed from lava fountains.

Uēkahuna Overlook recorded the heaviest ash fall, accumulating approximately 4-7 inches.
