Cyrus continued, “Everything in my life has been amazing because Disney took a chance on me. There was no reason for me to come to L.A. thinking I could host a show or pretend to be a pop star. I had no experience. I’d done some theater before. … There were a few years where I thought they made the right decision. I think it all worked out because whatever brought us to this room to commemorate and celebrate — not just the show itself — — This is the beginning of all this. The cast is here tonight, it’s great. Without you, this show might never have been the only one in this room who didn’t go to a Hannah Montana concert (because) I’m a Hannah Montana concert, but now I understand why it’s so much fun to go to a Hannah Montana show wearing a wig and a scarf like she does — that’s how I feel about celebrating Hannah Montana from the other side.”

I’m grateful that you still enjoy the show. I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Mitchell Musso

Mitchel Musso plays another best friend, Oliver, who wrote a tribute to the show after not attending the premiere or special.

“Hannah Montana grabbed a hold of my heart and never really let go. We literally grew up with you – the long days, crazy schedules, learning lines, laughing between takes, and figuring out life while the cameras were rolling. It taught me so many great values, but most importantly to me, laughter can get you through the tough days. That confidence is still with me every day,” he wrote on Instagram before mentioning Osment’s post. “Like my Lillypop said in her post, it’s an indescribable gift that so many of you are starting your own families and sharing this wonderful story with your children. That’s the coolest part about HM.”

He concluded: “Miley, Emily, Jason, Billy Ray, Moises, and the entire Disney crew – you became my family in all the real, messy, beautiful moments. Thank you for believing in a silly kid from Texas who wore some questionable clothes and had a haircut like that. To all of you, thank you for welcoming me into your homes and hearts 20 years ago and still allowing me to be here today. I’m honored that we get to share this together.”
