Grand Cayman: Secrets of Paradise Star Cass Russell Passed away at age 34 after a battle with cancer.
“It is with deep sadness that we share that our beloved Cass has passed away after a short but extremely courageous battle with cancer,” a statement read via Lacelle’s website Instagram Monday, February 15th.
Russell “leave an immeasurable legacy,” the statement noted, while sharing a photo of her smiling while standing in her kitchen.
“She was the definition of unforgettable; in just 34 years, she made an extraordinary impact on everyone who met her,” the post read. “She taught us that life is precious and should be embraced wholeheartedly and never wasted. Boredom was her worst enemy. Cass had a rare gift of making people feel truly alive and bringing everyone together, she was the glue.”
“Her ability to help so many people in a meaningful way was a superpower, and we hope people find comfort in the memories they share with her,” the statement continued. “Because she touched so many people around the world, she wanted to share one last post.”
The message concluded: “Our dearest Cass, you have been so brave for so long. You never gave in. Forever, our heart of fire❤️🔥. September 27, 1991 – February 11, 2026.”
In the comments section, Russell Grand Cayman: Secrets of Paradise Co-stars and fans, expressed condolences.
“Always with us in spirit and pushing us to be the best we can be. Love you to the moon and bring you back beautiful friend 🤍,” Julian Foster wrote, while Chelsea Flynn Say: “My friend, you are a light in the world and my heart breaks every time I think of you.”

Russell shared via Instagram In May 2025, she was diagnosed with a “rare” type of ovarian cancer. The reality star explained that she underwent emergency surgery to remove the tumor and would complete three rounds of chemotherapy that summer.
A few months later, Russell shared a touching update: Her cancer has returned. Lacelle’s video is of her in Instagram before her death.
“My cancer is back, and this time it’s aggressive; it has metastasized to my liver, stomach, abdominal wall and omentum,” she wrote in January. “This resulted in severe pain and nausea. Some days were better than others, but I haven’t had a day without pain since mid-November.”
In the caption, Russell said she had been hospitalized since December 2025 and would be hospitalized for the “foreseeable future.”
She continued, “I want to take a moment to let you all know that I see and feel all of your messages, prayers, and well wishes every day. Due to the side effects of chemotherapy and pain management, I often can’t respond, but please know how much I appreciate your love. I also need to give a shout out to my group of people who are either out there day in and day out or supporting me behind the scenes in the most selfless way. I am speechless, but my gratitude is endless.”
