Gisèle Pelicot gives powerful BBC interview

Gisèle Pelicot told BBC Newsnight’s Victoria Derbyshire that her strength comes from her “DNA”.

Ms Pellicot is at the center of the largest rape trial in French history. For nearly a decade, she was drugged into a coma by her husband, Dominique Pelicot, and raped by dozens of men he recruited in online chat rooms.

Before the trial began, she made the extraordinary decision to let the world know who she was, waiving her legal right to anonymity.

In the interview, she revealed she found it “unbelievable” that the man she lived with “could have committed these horrific acts” and how she is now rebuilding her life.
