A Seoul court ruled that Mr. Yoon attempted to subvert the constitution by deploying troops to blockade Congress on December 3, 2024 and ordering the arrest of politicians. Presiding judge Ji Guiyeon said in court that his actions fundamentally damaged South Korea’s democracy and should be severely punished.
