FBIof Missy Peregrine Her silence comes after a shocking on-screen death in a twist on the hit CBS series.
Monday, March 16, FBI Episode Maggie (Peregrym) Had to confront her First Arrest – Serial Murderer Ray DiStefanoMatthew Rauch) – who kidnapped her sister Erin (Adrienne Rose Bentson). Maggie ultimately fails to save her sister, discovering her body after thinking she was still alive.
“I was scared to do this script. I was scared to play this character because I knew what a dark place I would have to go to be able to live in that moment, and I really cared, if I had to go that far, to be as grounded and real and scary as possible,” Peregrine told us TV Insider About the surprise twist. “So it was great to work with (the writers) to figure out what was the most heartbreaking thing? Originally, it was written in the episode where it was more of a wrap-up for Peter. I just felt like, ‘Well, how can you still talk after finding out about your sister?'”
Peregrine spoke about her concerns about the episode.
“I just go to work and I’m like, ‘Okay, I know what I’m going to do today, but I don’t know how to do it. I know where I need to be, but I don’t know what my body is going to do,'” she recalled. “We did it in one take…but I didn’t look at Erin beforehand. I didn’t want to see her. I didn’t want to know what I was — I didn’t know anything. So when I turned that corner and got into the truck, that was the first time I’d experienced that moment, and it was hell.”

the actress explained Why it’s “very important” recounted the story, adding, “Everyone loses someone and we’ve been through that a lot. It’s obviously not going to be the same scene, but the sadness and the fear, oh, it’s the worst feeling in the world. I don’t want it to end. I don’t want it to end up feeling good. Thinking about it now makes me cry because it’s real.”
FBIThe series, which premiered in 2018, centers on the inner workings of the FBI’s Criminal Division in the New York City field office. where people work Keep New York City and its citizens safe.

“We’re a procedural, so we don’t get to know this character so deeply, and I’m really grateful to the writers for trusting me with this episode in this moment, even though I was scared to do it. And I’m grateful — I haven’t seen it yet,” Peregrine continued. “I’m grateful that things worked out well, but I hope that people can really understand in the next chapter what it was like for Maggie to get back on her feet and how she makes sense of her world, not just Erin, but her career after this huge loss? How can she trust herself to be able to move on and be herself and be vulnerable or do her job without feeling like her loved ones or herself are no longer threatened?”
Peregrine admits she “didn’t ask why” Irene “didn’t survive.”
“I couldn’t be in a worse place for my character,” she noted. “So, be grateful for that. Hopefully things get better from here.”
Looking ahead, Peregrine express personal loss Will keep her character.
“Obviously, we did work it out, and it’s still something that I carry with me. In a way, I’ll never be the same. Never. I’ll never be the same. That’s again why I’m so scared of my character going so far,” she continued. “To play something for eight years and then suddenly lose that feeling, you’re never the same again. You have to adapt to a completely different set of rules that I don’t even know about, a set of understandings, trying to figure out where your place is. What else can you believe? It’s scary.”
Peregrine concluded: “We’re not a character show that sits in your living room and talks about everything. I choose to go to work because there’s work to be done. So, we need to find those moments to have those discussions and address those issues, but we still have cases to solve.”
FBI Airs Mondays at 9pm ET on CBS.
