dolly parton She made a rare public appearance in Dollywood following a recent health scare.
“I’ve been doing a lot of stuff. As you know, I haven’t been on tour. I’ve had some minor health issues and we’re taking good care of them,” Parton, 80, told fans on Friday, March 13, as she celebrated her new season at the theme park. “I’m just a little exhausted.”

“I just got to the point where I needed to recover mentally, emotionally and physically,” she said. “But, it’s all good. It doesn’t slow me down.”

As Dollywood celebrates its 41st anniversary in East Tennessee on Friday, Parton said she hopes Deen will be proud of her for getting through life’s ups and downs.
“I think Carl Dean is waiting for me,” she shared. “If I showed up at Heaven’s Gate with other people, he wouldn’t like that. He’d be like, ‘Who is that pee? You left him outside the door.'”
Parton was accompanied on stage by the president of Dollywood Eugene Norton. At one point, the “9 to 5” singer joked that fans might mistake the executive for her “new husband.”
She later confirmed she was “not dating anyone.”
