Lexie Jonesshared by Bowie with models imantake Instagram Earlier this month, a video detailed the “dehumanizing” experience. Jones, now 25, revealed that she struggled with mental health issues as a child, which led to her seeing a therapist at the age of 10. A year later, she began self-harming and eventually developed bulimia at age 12.
“I don’t know why I feel this way,” she admits. “All I knew was that I was miserable. I felt stupid, incompetent, worthless, useless, and unlovable. And having successful parents only made it worse.”
Jones says Her “turning point” came after Bowie Being diagnosed with cancer. Bowie allegedly decided to check his daughter into a rehab facility after trying to cope with alcohol and drugs.
“Then two men came through the door, both over six feet tall,” she recalled. “They told me I could choose the easy way or the hard way. I chose the hard way. I resisted. I screamed. I grabbed the legs of the table. They grabbed me. They put their hands on me. They pulled me away from everything I knew and I screamed fucking murder.”

“We dug holes in the ground away from the site to use as bathrooms,” she claims in the emotional video. “Every time we went to the toilet we had to count out loud so the staff could keep track of us.”
Jones recalled communicating with people only once a week through letters. She also slept on a yoga mat and sleeping bag under a tarp and said her meals were cooked over a fire.
“The whole experience felt dehumanizing, like the whole point of it was to deprive humans of every basic comfort and need,” she said of the three-month stay at the wilderness camp that led her to Entering a residential treatment center Spent over a year in Utah. “This all happened while my father was getting sicker at home.”
Bowie died in 2016 at the age of 69 after a battle with liver cancer.
“I wasn’t there,” Jones pointed out. “I had the opportunity to talk to him two days ago on his birthday. I told him I loved him and he said the same and we both knew it.”
She continued: “I’ve come to terms with it. I try not to internalize it and not feel guilty. But sometimes I still have those moments where I wish things were different.”
