the wonder years‘ Danica McKellar She opened up about eating her placenta after giving birth, revealing she was “embarrassed” that she liked the taste.
McKellar, 51, who played Winnie Cooper on the coming-of-age drama from the 1980s and 1990s, shared her postpartum experience in an interview. Bobby Bones Tuesday, March 10, “bobby bones show” podcast.
“My doula said, ‘Do you want to taste the placenta?’ I had just given birth, and I said, ‘Of course. “I mean, you’re not in your right mind. She gave me a piece. Bobby, it was like the best filet mignon I’ve ever had. But more,” the former child star (real name Bobby Estelle) told Bones.
McKellar continued, “I was embarrassed by how much I liked it. It was weird. I thought, ‘What is this, some weird Satanic… am I a cannibal?’ (But) we were meant to have it.”
The actress is a mother of one to 15-year-old son Draco with her ex-husband, music composer Mike Verta. (The two split in 2012, and McKellar married a lawyer Scott Swislowski 2014. )
