Cooper says Britain ‘doesn’t agree with Trump on everything’

Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper has hit back at President Trump’s criticism of the UK’s response to the conflict with Iran.

“It won’t surprise you that we disagree with President Trump on all issues,” Cooper said Sunday during an appearance with Laura Kuenssberg.

She added that the Prime Minister’s job was to “make decisions in the national interest of the UK… rather than in the interest of any other country”.

The US president earlier said in a social media post that Britain was considering sending an aircraft carrier to the Middle East. He seemed dismissive of the move, writing: “We don’t need people who join the war when we’ve already won!”
