Climate protesters in kayaks disrupt Australian port operations

Australian police said they had arrested dozens of people during climate protests that claimed they intercepted two cargo ships at one of the world’s largest coal export ports.

NSW Police said several activists engaged in “unsafe behavior” on the water in Newcastle Harbor during the protest.

Climate activist group Rising Tide claimed responsibility for the latest protests, which said hundreds of activists kayaked into the port’s channel.
